Let me start by saying THANK YOU! Not being a religious person, from time to time the stars align in a way that really makes me believe that we are all part of a bigger picture. Meeting you and having you come down to support us is a gift that I wish more people were blessed with. It’s impossible for me to imagine Suni’s perfect birth story without you being there at our side. Supporting Avani is part of my role in this family, she doesn’t ask for much. When she said she wanted  Ayurvedic postpartum doula for after birth care it was not a question of if we were going to get someone to help but rather who. At the time I didn’t really know why we needed more support than we already had …. Doctors, Midwife, Gramma Mimi, myself and Rio….  seemed like a lot of cooks in the kitchen and I wasn’t 100% why we needed another person there. What I did know was that if Avani was saying she wanted the extra care then it meant she really really wanted the extra care. From the moment you arrived in Heredia we knew we had made the right choice in inviting you be part of the family. I use the word family because all of our lives paths have crossed and twisted together in a way that we will never forget you or everything you did for us while you were here in Costa Rica… or the things you continue to do for us from afar. You are forever part of our story and our lives. The light and knowledge, your passion, humor and wisdom are all things that as a parent we hope our children will grow into and possess as adults. A time that a lot of people fear and stress about seemed so easy… That was in part because of you. You wrapped Avani and us is a quiet blanket of knowledge and confidence. We were able to fully enjoy the last time we spent as family of 3 and then the first moments of becoming a family of 4. In hindsight It is clear to me now why we needed you , why more of the world need loving and caring people like you to take care of new Mommas and babies. My only regret is that you couldn’t have stayed longer with us. We definitely felt the void that was left when you inevitably needed to leave and return back to your family. To say you went above and beyond the job description and our expectations would be the understatement of the century. Play time with Rio, practically catching little Suni during birth, your selflessness to ask if I wanted to catch the baby and everything in between. I am filled with love and joy remembering time at the birth house…. I guess what I really want to say is THANK YOU! Thank you for taking a time that so many people fear and making it seem easy and stress free. Thank you for nursing Avani with love and mush mush. Thank you for speaking that secret Ayurvedic language that only Avani and you could understand. Thank you for keeping the house clean. Thank you for playing endlessly with Rio, thank you for shopping, Thank you for being a birth assistant and helping me deliver Suni, Thank you for Providing Emotional support. Thank you for being patient and kind. I feel like the list could go on and on and I would still miss things that you did so let me just end by saying THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID.
