Service Description

As a birth advocate, I am dedicated to guiding individuals through intentional transitions and celebrating the journey into parenthood. Together we create personalized rituals that provide a sacred space to acknowledge your transformation. The Closing of the Bones ceremony is a cross-cultural rite of passage that symbolizes the conclusion of a significant phase, such as postpartum or other major milestones after birth. This practice can be observed at various times—whether it's six weeks or sixty years postpartum. Its essence lies in marking a profound life experience, where the individual is held and acknowledged by their community. The ceremony serves to honor and celebrate the journey of the mother, celebrating the transformation from one version of herself to another. This offering includes: - Pre-ceremony vision planning (one week before) - Ceremony (tea and snacks, sharing the birth story, cloth binding, witnessing, processing as a group) - Post-ceremony integration (one week after) * Add on services are available: pre-Ceremony abhyanga, medical food and beverages, fresh flowers, singing bowls, hosting, etc Origins and Cultural Sensitivity: Interest in the Closing of the Bones practice has grown, raising concerns about cultural appropriation. It’s important to recognize that this practice has deep roots in various traditions worldwide. In our ceremony, we approach these cultural influences with respect and gratitude. You are encouraged to incorporate elements from your own heritage, spiritual practices, or religious beliefs to make the experience personally meaningful. Please contact me directly with any questions or request for more details.
